Recently I started to sit with M.Vaishnavi at 06 PM daily and chant one big slokham from appa`s note book and sing a few bhajans, mainly for her.
I realised the amount of trouble appa took for that daily slokham session. I have with me the master note book of appa, written in tamil by appa, containing 29 big slokhams.
Papa, Rukku, Lux, Lalli, me, Shoba, Venguttu, Chandar, Ramaa, Ashok ( for sometime ), used to be there. Appa , whenever a new slokham was started, used to write so many copies and distribute to all of us and collect them back after the session. This he did, not for sometime but many many years.
I am amazed at his seriouseness on these kind of things for the children and the determination to fullfil that!!

ReplyDeletewe these days do not have the kind of patinece our thathas and pattis had,Their dedication to everything they did was amazing..Their patience with their children was truly wonderful.
I find i do not have the kind of patience with sumanth the way my mother was with us. Is it also because Iam past the beautiful years of toddler parenting and a bit into my middleage.
