1. Almost twenty days since I checked mail. We shifted our house on 13th Friday and so could not see mails for sometime. After shfting, after hundreds of phone calls to Airtel, we got the broadband connection yesterday night. The Airtel telephone number, has changed to 4201 6064. TATA phone number is same 6551 3778.

2. It was really sad to know about Kappukka`s demise. K>Nagar days with Kappukka used to be excellent.She used to be a good support for Sarada also.

A TRIBUTE TO MY DEAR KAPPU AKKA

I can never forget my akka. I learned so many things from her. She was an accomplished person always willing to help. She used to remember vividly about Shreebagh and those old days and could narrate a number of incidents of olden times. Once she even drew the plan of Shreebagh and explained to me. I still remember so many incidents about Kappukka. She was very good in needlework and smocking on frocks. I could write so many of her qualities. In short she was a amazing person. I will miss her.

I am speechless. I have a lot of childhood memories associated with Kappu athai, VR athimber and everybody in that family. I always link Kappu athai with her very special "Thayir toffee" that she used to make for me. I think it's high time I learn how to make that now, just to keep her name alive.

Kappu is no more

We record with deep sorrow the passing of Kappu, one of the most powerful personalities of Family PSC. She had been ailing for long and now God  decided to call her home. May her soul rest in peace.

Thambi's birthday

     There was a nice gathering at Raheja Residency on the evening of 12 March to celebrate Thambi's birthday.  Here are some photos taken on the occasion.

The PSC Family warmly greets Thambi (Appa, Thambi Anna, Thambi Periappa, Thambi Mama, Thambi Thatha ...) on his birthday, 12th March 2009, as he completes 89 and steps into his 90th year.  Ramaa and Ashok tell me that 12th March has always been observed as the birthday.  As we recall the times spent with him with pleasure and nostalgia, we wish Thambi all the best on his birthday.  Many happy returns!

Moving house

Best wishes to Ramu and family on the occasion of their moving house.  Hope they will be very happy in their new home.  Surrendering and again getting new connections for gas, ration card, phone etc. are vexatious problems in India.  God knows when they will also be simplified.

We are shifting our house on Friday 13th. We have started our packing and will complete on Thursday. The new address will be Flat-G 1, Block - II, Jains Ashraya Phase III, No.199, Arcot Main Road, Virugambakkam, Chennai - 600092.
I may not be able to check mails and post anything in the blog also for sometime.
Whereever I go for address change like bank, gas, etc., all want address proof.

We will be shifting our house soon, as our present house owner has asked us to vacate.
We have seen a flat in Arcot Road, not very far from our present flat and we will be paying the token advence today. We are planning to do the milk boiling on 07th and if possible we will shift on 13th, even though our present flat will be for us till end March.

March is here and a new set of celebrities of the month. But our list fo February had an omission. That is the gentleman featured in the picture above, Vasant Krishnan Jayaram, grandson of Ramaa. Ramaa had given me a CD with the pictures of her famioly members and, lazy man that I am, I have delayed acting on it. Apologies to Ramaa!

In the slideshow alongside (not yet activated), the picture of Ashok is one taken by me in 1982, when he visited us in Geneva. I found that I could not locate any other good photo of Ashok in my computer, though I am sure that I have some pictures hiding somewhere!
