Saradam and I wish Vimala and Jayaraman a happy Wedding Anniversary and many happy returns. We had made a short movie of the wedding with a 8mm camera in colour and later I got it converted into a video tape. Now the tape seems full of fungus and the VCP does not work. But, I remember seeing the video some time ago and we have in it Mannargudi Paati, Kappu, Thambi, Padmini, Saraswathi and of course Appa and manni. Vimala's father was old and so the functions were performed by Vimala's elder brother Rangu. If I remember right, there were no rail reservations then and on the return journey Jayaram and I travelled sitting at the door of the coach the whole night. Kumbakonam was hot but we enjoyed a session of tiffin at the Venkateswara Hotel (Thambi and a few of us). Usha did not come for the wedding because she was in Peruvemba, having delivered Gayathri in February.
