Happy birthday, Mythili!

It is Mythili's birthday today, May 8th. Here is wishing her a very happy birthday and many happy returns.

Thanks everyone for the good wishes conveyed on my (and Vimala's) wedding anniversary. Ramakrishnan's post reminded me of the quality of rail travel in the 'fifties, when there was no reservation except for the upper classes. Some times passesgers would get in through the windows as the doorways were blocked by people or baggage. I remember our Puja vadhyar, who was accompanying us to Madras for the wedding (of Thambi, I think), trying to secure a seat from unwilling passengers on the strength of his going for a wedding in the judge's house!
