Birthdays

        A few birthdays have gone by in the last few days.  Raju and Varsha's on the 27th and Ramakrishnan/Kumar/Sekar's on the 28th.  Today it is Nana's birthday.  Family PSC greets them all and wishes them many happy returns.

     Best wishes to Vichu who celebrated his birthday on 30th November.  Many happy returns.  I do not have his photograph in my collection and therefore could not include it in the post.

  The December list of birthdays is very small, compared to other months.  I might have missed some.  If any of you has information on other birthday or anniversaries, do please post it.

 Tomorrow we leave for Tiruchi to attend Koushik's wedding.  Needless to say, we are looking forward to the event and to spending some time with a number of members of the family.

Janga Manni's janmanakshatram

This is the month of Adi and today's star is Tiruvadirai. That is, today is Janga Manni's janmanakshatram. Let us all remember her role in our lives and thank God for having given us a wonderful mother.

The following is what I posted in our blog on this occasion last year.

"How many of us ever bothered to find out what mother (Janga Manni)'s birthday was? Recently I asked Ramakrishnan if he knew the date and he rang up today to say it was 12 August 1909 (Month of Adi, Tiruvadirai star). Though we missed out on the date, the month (August) is still current. Let us remember Manni with gratitude for her unfailing love, simplicity and good nature.NAMASKARAMS."

It is Ketan's birthday today. Ramesh (Vidya) celebrated his birthday on 13 April. Best wishes to them both. I have had to keep away from the computer for nearly the whole of two days, as a new AC was being fitted yesterday and today the flat was swarming with painters who were painting the grillwork. All the best to the birthday celebrants!
