As Akila said, inverters can't get charged because there is no power. In Palm Grove I am told some inverters are not functioning because of this. We have power cuts for a minimum of 10 hours a day. Even when there is power, sometimes one phase does not function; today we could not heat water for bath. The UPS also gets power from that phase! We have been told not to use the phase-change switch.
Chennai residents are lucky--they have only two-hour power cuts.
