When I was in 2nd or 3rd standard, there was a chapter on road rules.
Rule for crossing the road was = " Look to the right, look to the left, walk across when there is no vehicle".
The same rule in the year 2000 = " Look to the right, look to the left, walk across very fast seeing all around you to escape ".
The rule now = " Stand at the point where you want to cross the road. Close your eyes and run. Thank God after crossing "!!!!

Hahahahhaha - only Ramu chittappa can make such a great joke! You shd have been here today - Stalin's b'day - total madness. Our entire road, & all surrounding roads were completely taken over by 'rathathin rathams'. Our compound was swarming with police. The tempo with food packets was inside our compound. End of day - the road littered with yellow plastic bags & plastic cups, water bottles, food spilt everywhere (like arubathumoovar day), including inside our building - all the police personnel were eating here. I must also add that the Fanalca people came & cleaned up after the crowds were gone.

ReplyDeleteAnd now the Semmozhi Mahanaaadu is coming to Coimbatore. Of course, the benefit is that all the roads are being repaired and a park is being created near the meeting place taking a part of the Central Jail etc. But during the meeting the city is going to be impossible with all traffic restrictions and possibly power cut to most of the residential areas. Even now the important roads are dug up for shifting the overhead electric cables underground.After the meeting which is going to last for four or five days, the whole place will be like a garbage bin.
