This is in response to Jayaramanna,s visit to temple with Shruti.
I remember to have read, I think in Deivathin Kural, that in Kali yuga, just chanting the Mantrams, Slokams, etc will fetch good results. Any comments or clarifications please.

Shruti has been bery observant and also honest! I have seen that when groups of ladies get together to chant/ sing some set of prayers/songs, they seem to do it for the sole purpose of finishing it, not for the process of doing itself.
ReplyDeleteBut Ramu chittappa is right too, that in Kali yuga, even when done mechanically, chanting accrues punya.
But it definitely is more effective if one pays attention to the meaning while chanting- that can transport you to another realm. and then it would not be a dreary lot!
